There is an interesting monument one street behind the hotel on the way to the grocery store if anyone has a few minutes of free time in the next couple of days!
It is a square named after Marion Dönhoff, who amoung other things was a friend of one of the previous mayors Willy Brandt.

I didn't know that was there! It looks like there's a crack in the glass, do you think this monument is one that is as respected as the other ones we have looked at?
Unfortunately I have found that a lot of memorials are vandalized or damaged in someways, this one included. I do not think it is as touristy as some of the other memorials that we have been to but I think that is maybe slightly more than Marlene Dietrich Platz for example because it actually has quite a large monument there. While part of East-Berlin it was just a nameless greenspace, it wasn't until 2010 that it actually was given this name.
She was also a journalist who participated in the resistance against Hitler's National Socialists!
I have walked by this a couple of times at night and took a couple of pictures but I didn't see what it was called when I looked at it. Thanks Jen.
