Public Transportation here is more readily available than in Regina, which is why so many people use it here. There was rarely a train or bus that wasn't full and it is good that way. If people use the system then there is money to update and maintain the system. The trains/buses also come more frequently which is great; if you miss one you don't have to be too concerned because the next one is always just a few minutes away.
Something that has been a bit complicated here is using a paper map to navigate the metro because of the construction that isn't updated on it. This is why the smartphone/device app is great. The city can keep people fairly updated without having to consistently print out new maps.

I feel you should have spent some time comparing the different forms of transit

I found that their was already a lot of that on the blog and did not want to be too repeative, so I thought I would discuss some of the other things I noticed. However, that is a good point. Each method is efficient in their own rights. The bus is slower than either of the train systems but it reaches places that the trains do not. The tram doesn't seem to go anywhere the trains do not and it doesn't come as often, but their must be some reason that it is still operational.
As a side note, I experienced my first ticket checking. Since I have only been here for 3 days and have already seen this, I assume it must be pretty common, more than I expected for sure.

Kyle, I don't think that there would too much to compare as Regina has only one method of public transportation which is to take a bus (unless you consider a cab, however we have not had experience taking a cab in Berlin yet). If regina had a train or a tram it may have been easier to do comparisons.

I think that even if Regina had a train or tram system it wouldn't be as efficient as we hope it would. All of the areas where a station would need to be are so populated that I don't think tearing down buildings would fly.

To add on to this, adding anything would pretty much bankrupt the city. If people had trouble over the $300-something stadium, they'd lose their minds over the costs of adding trains to the city. A quick Google search led me to the figures of $300 million for one kilometer of subway track construction and $100 million for surface routes for a tram system.
